With capacity to accommodate 1,000 fans, the Oakland Soccer Field has served as the home field for the Oakland men's and women's soccer programs since 2001. The 120 x 75-yard field is seeded with Kentucky bluegrass and rye. In 2011 the facility was upgraded with lighting to allow for night matches, as well as a gated concourse on the upper level.
With a first-rate facility, it's no surprise to learn that the Oakland Soccer Field has hosted 10 league soccer championships. In 2010 the Oakland men's team won The Summit League title in front of the home fans. The next season the women's team followed suit as hosts, becoming the first-ever No. 4 seed to win the league title.
The Oakland Soccer Field was also the host site for Oakland's opening match in the 2008 NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament. The field has also been used as a training ground for various professional clubs, including AC Milan and Panathanaikos during a 2010 visit. In 2015, the U.S. Women's National Team practiced on the field prior to its friendly match against Haiti.
